It's not just keywords

SEO for Modern Medicine

Philip Oroni

We like to do things differently. We always have.

When we first began back in 2020, we had a handful of writers on a mission to advocate for patient rights & Modern Medicines. We did not have any SEO campaign. We did not even have a budget. We just scraped whatever we could muster and put forth our most heartfelt work.

The passion become infectious and our readers quick became part of our family. Soon we went from a small family to a large one. And we are not done growing.

Now is the time, however, to take a more pragmatic approach to growth. We plan to invest in search optimization and expand our social media presence. It is an inevitable part of becoming a credible media outlet. Our strategy includes focusing on innovations in healthcare and embracing a more modern medical approach to content creation.

But that does not mean we have to do it the same way as other health media site. In fact, nothing about us resonates with other more traditional health media outlets. Instead, we’ve always taken a different approach, emphasizing all about health.

Similarly, our SEO strategy is centered around providing valuable information and engaging our website visitors with insightful and informative articles. By consistently producing top-notch content, we were able to attract more organic traffic and improve our search engine rankings with nothing other than the quality of writing. Our fresh perspective on polarizing health policy topics proved to be highly successful, as we saw a significant increase in website traffic and a boost in our online presence. Moving forward, we plan to continue this content-focused approach to SEO and further enhance our digital marketing efforts.

But instead of competing for keyword visibility or chasing traditional online growth metrics, the next phase will consist of integrating more closely academic articles and scholarly journals with Daily Remedy content. To bridge this cap, we will use a healthcare content management system modeling programs – much like the ones used in academic databases like PubMed or Cochrane – to link clinical studies and reports with Daily Remedy articles.

Think of it like an academic nudge assistant. This automated assistant will scan through every Daily Remedy article and review the links already made and determine if other links are necessary – and even add references to more academic articles. Specifically, we will conduct the following:

  1. Determine where specific references are necessary and eliminate references that are not needed
  2. Define specific parameters such as year ranges, topical elements, type of publications or journal names when conducting a paper search
  3. Direct the assistant to exclusively use papers collected from specific journals that pertain to the interests and needs of the readers
  4. Limit the extent of references given by the assistant in order to cater towards efficiency and relevance

By creating a brief synopsis of the article using highly cited academic articles, we provide readers with a well-researched and fact-checked overview of the topic discussed in Daily Remedy. This not only offers readers a deeper understanding of the subject matter but also seamlessly guides them towards more scholarly work for further exploration. We believe patients and our general reading audience are fully capable of digesting more technical writings on common topics presented on our site. In this vein, we seek to facilitate this learning process.

Furthermore, this approach helps combat misinformation by directing readers towards reputable sources and educating them on relevant scholarly reports that are directly related to the content they are consuming. By bridging the gap between casual reading and academic research, this feature encourages critical thinking and fosters a more informed and knowledgeable readership.

We are growing and we know we need to optimize the website’s visibility in order to continue growing. But that does not mean we have to do it the traditional way. No – we fully intend to grow while pioneering novel techniques of search optimization for healthcare content. Our aim is to establish authority and subject matter expertise rather than chase the latest trending keyword. This will help us build an ideal healthcare system for our readers.

Ambient Artificial Intelligence Clinical Documentation: Workflow Support with Emerging Governance Risk

Health systems are increasingly deploying ambient artificial intelligence tools that listen to clinical encounters and automatically generate draft visit notes. These systems are intended to reduce documentation burden and allow clinicians to focus more directly on patient interaction. At the same time, they raise unresolved questions about patient consent, data handling, factual accuracy, and legal responsibility for machine‑generated records. Recent policy discussions and legal actions suggest that adoption is moving faster than formal oversight frameworks. The practical clinical question is...
